A podcast that redefines what it means to be informed in your pregnancy and birth.
This can seem like you are on an overwhelming journey. Breathe. Always come back to the breath. And read on. We are here to help.
We spend lots of time thinking about our pregnancy and preparing for our baby’s birth but what comes next? When you finally have your baby in your arms your next thoughts will be…now what?
I have four children and think I am an expert in baby wrangling. Brigid here đđ»ââïžâ â
BUT actually all I am is an expert in wrangling my OWN babies.â â Any information from me is anecdotal. â â
Itâs a bit like pregnancy right? Where you will be following lots of accounts, googling EVERY little thing and getting overwhelmed with the sheer volume of advice. â â
Some of that advice is not âexpertâ it is âanecdotalâ. â â
Sometimes it is hard to spot the difference.â â
I donât want you to feel anecdotal is not worthy, stories are great (I tell lots of them), but understand it is coming from a small sample size, itâs the opinion of the teller. It is not data driven or peer reviewed evidence that is generalisable.â â
And mostly, it is the reason for the âshouldsâ and the âoverwhelmâ during pregnancy and early parenting.â â
So, just like why we hope you are following our expert led page – when you look for help about your baby, find an expert voice that resonates with you. â â Look at that personâs credentials, make your assessment then listen. To them.â â
When we were developing our online GrowMyBaby course it was really important to us that everyone was a bonafide âexpertâ. Someone who had degrees to match their experience. â â Information that was not âanecdotalâ but âexpertâ.â â
For the âBaby and Youâ module we found Jen Butler. Midwife, Maternal and Child health nurse, Sleep coach, IBCLC trained lactation consultant and Circle of Security Consultant. Just WOW.â â
